We start the 2018 with the important and very interesting news!
Conference participation of 5 experts from developing countries, who submitted outstanding abstract, will be supported by UNESCO. The financial support will cover fee, accomodation and internal travel costs. The abstract should be submitted till 1st Ferbuary and accepted by Scientific Committee and UNESCO Water Science Division. The Participants interested in the support should inform during submission and not later than 1st Ferbruary 2018.

Abstract submission still possible

By decision of Scientific Committee Chairman - prof. Andrzej Witkowski, you can still submit your abstract. The abstract - in English, of up to 300 words, should be prepared in .doc or .docx file format and send to the Conference Secretariat mailbox.

Accepted abstracts will be published in a special conference volume.

Honorary Patronate

It is a pleasure to announce that Rector of the University of Silesia - prof. Andrzej Kowalczyk, hydrogeologist and member of Scientific Committee, took over the honorary patronage of the Conference.
Thus, the conference will be one of many events held on the occasion of the 50 anniversary of the University of Silesia.

Possible financial support

We are doing our best to raise funds from UNESCO for financial support for participants from low income countries who submitted outstanding abstract. We are still waiting for the decission.

We are pleased to announce the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE on "NEW APPROACHES TO GROUNDWATER VULNERABILITY" which will be held on 4 - 8 June 2018 in Ustroń, Poland.
The Conference is organized by University of Silesia with support of IAH, UNESCO and Association of Polish Hydrogeologists. This edition will be focused on new approaches, methods of assessment of the groundwater vulnerability, problems of groundwater recharge and its role in vulnerability assessment, also in the context of Climate Changes and sustainable land use management.

The 2018 edition will be, in fact, the 4th Conference on groundwater vulnerability organised in in Ustroń by the Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology University of Silesia.
